Over the past two decades, Vishal Amin has led cybersecurity, cloud, and national security businesses with a focus on strategy, innovation, and operational execution across regulated markets. Prior to joining Crosspoint Capital, Vishal built and led Microsoft’s Federal and National Security cybersecurity business, also serving as an executive sponsor for the company’s Regulated Industry and Nonprofit segments. In these roles, he enabled Microsoft’s investments and innovation in the security market while driving collaboration across defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Before Microsoft, Vishal served as an F/A-18 aviator and Special Operations Officer in the United States Marine Corps, leading teams in high-risk operational environments and contributing to early cyber and information operations strategy. He is the founder of the Spades Institute, a nonprofit advancing collaboration between the public and private sectors in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and national resilience. Vishal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, is a Presidential Scholar with the George W. Bush Institute, and serves as an Executive Partner at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
