Steve Luczo has served as Chairman of the Board of Seagate Technology PLC since 2002. From October 2017 to October 2018, he also served as its Executive Chairman, and prior to that served as its CEO, from January 2009 to October 2017. Luczo joined Seagate Technology in October 1993 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. In September 1997, he was promoted to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer and from July 1998 to July 2004 he served as CEO. Upon his promotion to CEO of Seagate Technology in July 1998, Luczo also joined its board of directors. After resigning as Seagate Technology’s CEO in July 2004, Luczo remained as Chairman of the Board before becoming CEO again from 2009 to 2017. Prior to joining Seagate Technology in 1993, Luczo was Senior Managing Director of the Global Technology Group of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., an investment banking firm, from February 1992 to October 1993. Luczo currently serves on the board of directors of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, AT&T, Inc. and Morgan Stanley as well as several other private and non-profit companies. Luczo has also previously served on the board of directors of Microsoft Corporation, VMware and Veritas. Luczo graduated from Stanford University and he received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has an honorary Doctorate of Letters in Economics from Queens University, Belfast.
